Abstract: The toxic effects of six pesticides (acephate,cartap,beta-cypermethrin,thiophanate-methyl,pyridaben,and iprodione) on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity were determined through in vitro tests. Results show that all the tested pesticides obviously inhibited AChE activity. The inhibition rate began to decrease first and then turned back upward with the increase in dosage of acephate;and the other way round in the case of exposure to thiophanate-methyl;and the inhibition rate increased with the concentrations of the other four pesticides.
