Impacts of construction of Qinghai-Tibet Railway on landscape pattern

Abstract: With the aid of the technology of remote sensing(RS)and geographic information system(GIS)the landscapes in the section from Tanggula Mountain Pass to Lhasa City of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway were classified and charted and changes in the landscape pattern before and after the railway construction were analyzed.The results indicated that the impact of the railway construction on the landscape pattern is more serious in the small range alongside the line.
