Abstract: On the basis of such evaluation indexes as landscape diversity, landscape fragmentation and landscape isolation, quantitative analysis was made on the landscape spatial pattern of the typical silty coastal zone in Bohai Bay and the impact of human activities on landscape structure. For the convenience of analysis, the studied region was divided into 8 landscape elements, such as cultivated land, wasteland, village and town, saltern, shrimp pond, mudflat, reservoir and pond, and river and ditch. The result of the analysis shows that the landscape diversity is dominated and influenced by cultivated land and wasteland; of the cultivated land and wasteland, the landscape fragmentation is high and the isolation low; of the salterns, and the rivers and ditches, the fragmentation is the lowest; and of the villages and towns and the mudflat the isolation is high due to their distribution.
