The author considers that countryside is a complex ecosystem of society--economy--nature with agricultural management as the main body, which consists of three subsystems, i.e., 1. productive system,2.processing system and 3.transportation and sale system. To simulate the principle of interadaption between structure and function of ecosystem and establish a reasonable agriculture-industry structure is the basis of realizing the integration of production, processing, transportation and sale and the link of accelerating material turnover and stimulating rural economy.

Stereoagriculture is a simulated agro-ecosysetem of tropical plant community. Prom the viewpoint of ecology, this paper analyses the current agroecological structure of Hainan Island, indicating that the agro-ecosystem of mono-planting structure cannot fully use the favourable resources of light, temperature, water and soil in tropical regions, and moreover, may induce a serious destruction of ecological environment. This paper also proposes the theoretical basis of new agro-ecosystem, stereoagriculture, and its developmental direction, and proliminarily sums up the ecolomic efficiency of stereoagriculture.

Based on the field survey and soil analysis, this paper discusses with the method of main component analysis the main pollution source and pollution factor combination of cultivated soils in Suzhou suburbs. Results show that on the basis of pollution source survey, this method can differentiate pollution source and pollution factor, obtain satisfied results and help us finding out principle contradiction from lots of factors.

The aim of this experiment is to establish a new rice-fish symbiotic ecosystem. In this system, producers rice and weeds provide favourable living conditions for consumer grass carp, and the latter consumes weeds which are unbeneficial for mankind, promotes the strong development of main producer rice, and further enhances the economic efficiency of agricultural production.

With the application of revised Gauss smoke point-source model and simplified H-G plane-source model, this paper simulates the 1981 ’s concentration distribution of air SO2 in Jiangsu province and forecasts its distribution tendency in 2000. In 1981, the SO2-polluted area in Jiangsu ( beyond the limit of the National 2nd Class Standard of Atmosphere Quality ) is 825 km2, damaged polulation is about 4,170,000, and the main polluted area is the two sides along the Shanghai-Nanjing railway in Southern Jiangsu. In 2000, the damaged area in this province will be 2,575 km2, damaged population 8,000,000, and polluted area will be expanded to the two banks of Yangtze Eiver. Comparing with 1981. in 2000, the SO2 concentration in urban districts will be increased not significantly, but more significantly in suburbs and some rural districts. This paper also analyses the reason of air SOa pollution in Jiangsu and the rate of this influence on agro-ecology, and estimates the direct economic loss induced by it.

This article deals with the contents of As, Hg, Cr, Cd, Pb, Zn, Co, Ni and Mn in flowers, fruits and teas sampled from Suzhou suburbs. Results show that in fruits, the contents of heavy metals are normal, except those of Hg and Ni in chestnut, which exceed the health standard. But in flowers and teas, the contents of all tested heavy metals are higher than those in fruits, and in some flowers, the contents of As and Pb are very high.

The author considers that agricultural ecology exhibits a strong integrative characteristic, deals with a wide range of disciplines and has close relationship with agriculture. Agriculture itself is an ecosystem, and also an enterprise of ecology. Therefore, agricnltural ecology should be a branch of ecology which mainly studies the ecology of agricultural system. The traditional agriculture all over the worlld possesses a broad ecological rationality, and the mechanized intensive agriculture in western countries has exposed many serious ecological problems. The agricultural modernization of our conutry must be established on the basis of traditional organo-agriculture to develop ecological agriculture. With the above mentioned viewpoint of agricultural ecology, the author reviews the history of our traditional organo-agriculture and its development in the world, and especially points out thetransformation of traditional organo-agriculture——inorganic agriculture——organo-agriculture in Japanand the development of organo-agriculture in Europe and America. At the end of this paper, the author indicates the potential risk of our agriculture’s following the same old disastrous road of Japan.
