Abstract: Since the 1980s,national park and nature reserve planning has entered a new phase in both ideology and practice.The progresses in the research of nature reserves of the world in association with their cultural value,funds,native people,scientific basis and planning are discussed.It has been pointed out that there tends to be a new direction for construction of and research on nature reserves of the natural ecological type to maintain and protect ecosystem integrity.
