Abstract: The advances in the study of the roles of soil in methane oxidation were reviewed. The mechanisms of methane oxidation in soils,the effects of oxygen and nitrogen supply, soil moisture, soil temperature, soil pH and soil texture on methane oxidation have been discussed.
