STUDIES ON THE EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION OF ANIMAL PROTEIN RESOURCES: APPLE SNAIL (Ampullaria gigas) Ⅲ. The exploitation of commodity food chains based on Apple snail as animal protein feed

摘要: 为开发利用动物蛋白资源大瓶螺,1985年以来分别开展了以螺作动物蛋白饲料的水貂、鸡、鸭、对虾、螃蟹等食物链开发利用研究。各食物链饲养试验结果显示,增重效果和经济效益均很显著,螺的蛋白质转换效率高于国产鱼粉,但稍低于秘鲁鱼粉。

Abstract: In order to exploit the new source of animal protein-Apple snail, a series of food chain research have been carried out using the snail as animal protein feed on mink, chicken, duck, prawn and crab etc. since 1985. The results of feeding trials for various food chains showed that the weight gains and the economic benefit were very significant , and the trasferring efficiency for snail protein was higher than that in domestic fish meal but somewhat lower than that in Peruvian fish meal. All of these display an extensive potential for exploitation.
