Abstract: Based on major findings in the research on sandstorms/duststorms,reviews were made individually on their patterns and impacts,spatial distribution and developmental trend,cause of formation and sources of sands and dusts and impacts of anthropogenic factors,and routes of movement.Thereupon,six macroscopic strategies are brought forward comprehensively for alleviating the hazard of sandstorms/duststorms.
