Abstract: The causes for the decline of fruit and vegetable quantity and quality in .some suburb areas of Lianyungang City were investigated with the method of plant monitoring. The results indicate that the concentration of atmospheric HF is very high near some chemical industry plant and can directly damage to fruit trees and vegetables. In addition, sulfur dioxide and its mixture also have harmful influence on plants in the area.
