STUDIES OF THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE NANJING GUQUAN RURAL ECOLOGICAL PROJECT. VII. Study on the Effect of UsIng ChIcken Manure as Fodder of Hog on Grovvth Rate of Hog, Pork QualIty and Forage ConsumIng

  • Chicken manure is a waste of chicken farm. It contains, however, a plent of proteins and other nutrients. The experiment which raised hog by use of different proportion of chicken manure to ordinary fodder showed that it did not lower both the growth rate of hog and pork quality when adding 15-30% of chicken manure (fresh weight) to the forage and that it could save many fodders. The results obtained from the experiment proved that pig raising with a part of chicken manure was suitable to extend in rural area.
