Abstract: The topography of Zhejiang Province is distributed from southern Zhejiang to Northern Zhejiang Province in mountainous, hill, basin and plain areas respectively. There are great differences among these areas in agro-ecological environment, industrial structure, and e-conomic development. Rigorous classification of agro-ecological regions is critical for sustainable agricultural production and rational use of agricultural resources. With the method of cluster analysis, this province is divided into four ecological regions on the basis of 26 indexes representing natural resources, economic, ecological environments and economic efficiency. These ecological regions are: mountain forestry ecological regioni basin hill ecological region; plains river network ecological region and coastal island ecological region. A comprehensive evaluation of these ecological regions is made based on the regionization.
