Abstract: Using the county-level comprehensive land ecological security assessment system, consisting of three sub-systems, i.e. nature, economy and society, land ecological security of Danling County, Sichuan Province, in 2001 – 2010 was evaluated, dynamic changes in coordination degree of the system analyzed, and Danling County compared with all the other counties in Meishan City in land ecological security. Results show that on the whole the land ecological security of Danling was on the way turning better during 2001 – 2010, however, in 2010, it was still at a sensitive and alert stage. The comprehensive ecological security value increased from 0.6306 to 0.6972, and the land economic ecological security value increased from 0.2366 to 0.3279, while the natural and societal ecological security value dropped from 0.2623 and 0.1317 to 0.2539 and 0.1153, respectively, and the coordination degree of the land ecosystem dropped from 0.6709 to 0.5356 from 2001 to 2010.
