Abstract: For effective control of grasshoppers, it is essential to clarify the relationship between the growing and reproduction of grasshoppers and the ecological environment they live in. The study shows that the air temperature in the Qinghai Lake Region is significantly related to the grasshoppers during the overwintering and hatching periods of their eggs,whereas heavy precipitation reversely to the growing of grasshoppers. However, an appropriate amount of precipitation may facilitates the emergence of nymphs, thus increasing the initial number of the adults. The secondary lacustrine terraces and tectonic platforms are found beneficial to the growing and reproduction of grasshoppers. In addition, the temperature, texture, moisture, and salt content of the soil have also a certain effect.
