Abstract: The purificating capabilities of Eichhornia crasspes and Alternanthera phioxenoidcs in wastewater treatment of paper pulping were studied. The experimental results showed that these two aquatic plants can decrease CODcr quite efficiently and increase DO of the wastewater. However, they are not suitable to use to remove the colour and iignin from the wastewater.In additinn,they are very sensitive to suifide in the wastewater.
