Abstract: The application of principles of ecology and scientific theories of farmland ecosystem management in the integrated control of pests and diseases for tea gardens have been discussed. It is suggested that ecological control i.e. agricultural control and biological control should be the major measures. By adopting various agricultural technologies and modern biological scientific measures, ecological control could minimize the consumption of chemical pesticides, consequently, the environmental pollution and the pesticide residue could be reduced, the natural enemies of pests could be protected and finally the ecological balance of tea gardens could be maintained.
