Progress and the Focal Points of International Legislation on Biosafety

Abstract: The safety of biotechnology (biosafety) has aroused grave concerns of the international society gradually. The big difference of biosafety capacities among different countries makes great divergence of views on the contents and forms of international legislation on biosafety.The focal points of their arguments such as advance informed agreement (AIA), risk assessment and risk management, information exchange and other related issues have been expounded and analyzed. The development trend of international legislation on biosafety has also been discussed.
